Leadership Hobbies

Leading can be meaningful and fulfilling.

Despite its common association with work, our jobs can often be a challenging environment for leadership.

At work, our position may or may not entitle us to lead. If it doesn’t, leading becomes much more challenging. If it does, others are obliged to follow us to some extent, making it hard to know if we are truly good leaders.

Hobbies can present a more natural, democratic context for us to practice and improve our leadership skills.

Furthermore, good leadership is composed of many other skills – such as listening skills, communication skills, and creativity. Hobbies can allow us practice these skills as well, helping us become better leaders.

This page lists hobbies that present opportunities for leading.
