Why is nature so beneficial? Maybe for the same reason that their benefits don’t need advocating: the love of nature might be encoded in us. In his book Biophilia, Edward O. Wilson suggested that:
[…] we humans have an affinity for the natural world that has evolved over millennia and is part of our genes, just like our tendency to be territorial or to protect our young.
